Regina Morales is the Director of Economic Development for the City of Sugar Land, Texas, which is an award-winning, master-planned community southwest of Houston.
The City of Sugar Land has numerous successes due to its public-private partnership projects, such as Sugar Land Town Square, Houston Museum of Natural Science at Sugar Land, and the Imperial Sugar Refinery redevelopment project, which includes the development of the Sugar Land Heritage Museum and the Sugar Land Professional Minor League Baseball Stadium – Constellation Field.
Regina has 16 years of experience in economic development in Texas and has facilitated over 48 corporate relocations and expansion projects, creating over $1.45 billion in new capital investments and 4600 jobs. Some of the notable economic development projects have been location assistance and incentive facilitation for the $150M Brazos Valley Energy Electric generating plant; Bechtel Equipment Operations; Tramontina Expansions, III, IV, V; Advance Polybag Inc. manufacturing and distribution facility; future Fluor Services campus; Noble Drilling Services training facility; national headquarters locations for Minute Maid, Money Management International, Team Industrial Services and Atos Origin.
